A few years ago, the Orchard Group board began asking a question: Could we take what we’ve learned about planting churches in the cities of the Northeastern US and apply the principles to other challenging, strategic, urban contexts? As a result, Missio Dei Community was launched. The word “church” evokes something different in Utah than in lots of other places. In the minds of many Salt Lake City residents, a “mission” is something man goes on. The idea that God is on a mission, part of the gospel message, may be a surprise to most people in SLC
