What is 40 Days in the Word?
40 Days in the Word is our next spiritual growth campaign that we are kicking off in 2013. In The Story we said you would know the Bible like never before. In HIS Story we said you would get to know Jesus like never before. In 40 Days in the Word you will learn how to study the Bible like never before!
How do I fully participate?
There will be sermons on the weekend, small group curriculum as well as weekly projects designed to show you how to be a “doer” of the Word. We will also challenge everyone to do Scripture memory each and every week.
Who can participate in 40 Days in the Word?
This is an “all church” study where adults, teens and children can participate.
What is the schedule for 40 Days?
- January 5-6 Begin to distribute workbooks (discounted price of $5 per workbook)
- January 12-13 Introduce to the congregation; small group sign-ups; America’s Got Talent Finalist Joe Castillo performs
- January 19-20 Week 1 of the sermon series; small groups kick-off
- January 23 Wednesday night table groups kick-off
- February 23-24 Final weekend of series
- February 27 Final Wednesday night table group
What resources will be provided?
Everyone can buy a workbook at a discounted price of $5 for small group participation. We will also produce a weekly “Bible Study worksheet” for those who are not in small groups. There are also key chains for memory verses.
How do I get into a small group?
Simply sign up on the weekend through the Connections Sign-up or Sign-up Online
There are also table groups on Wednesday night at the church where you can participate.
How can I lead a small group?
Talk to our Connecting Pastor, Jason Fox, who can help you get set up. 40 Days in the Word is a great way to lead a study. There is a video provided as well as discussion questions.
We could also use people to volunteer to lead a table group on Wednesday night.
Is every small group doing 40 Days?
Since this is an “all church” study, all small groups are encouraged to do 40 Days in the Word.
What about my kids?
The children’s ministry and youth ministry have adapted this program to fit the needs of their groups. They will be studying the same subjects along with the adults.
What follows after 40 Days?
We will be doing a study of the life of Christ called “ID” that will lead up to Easter.
