Life Lessons from Bible Heroes

the-bible_header

We have just shared as a family the “how” to knowing and understanding the Bible like never have before! Now we want to dive into It!

Using the History Channel’s presentation of The Bible on Sunday evenings as a springboard, we will cover an overview of the whole Bible in just 5 weeks. In this series of sermons and studies we will grasp the great plan of God that some have called “the scarlet cord of redemption,”  which shows from the beginning to the end of the Scriptures one theme culminating in the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

This promises to be enlightening for all, but also a great opportunity to engage friends and neighbors in a discussion of God’s Word and, even more importantly, the person of that Word!

March 2-3: Journey from Death to Life!

Everyone has a story! Some read like tragedies, some like comedies, but everyone has a story! Usually they begin with birth and life. But one Bible hero’s story reads: “From birth to death to life!” And when we learn his life lesson, it can change our lives, too!

March 9-10:  Journey from Slavery to Freedom!

Some family stories are worth re-telling. Others are not. Remember those embarrassing ones. But there are others–the sacrifices made to achieve, the heroic efforts of a family member, the stellar performance of a loved one–these stories need to be passed on. They inspire, motivate and illustrate lives well lived and a legacy to follow. This week we will detail one of those stories that really can be our story, too!

March 16-17: Journey from Victim to Victor!

Use the word “victim” and you get the image of an abused and underprivileged person or, unfortunately today, a child from a school violence incident. But in a way, we are victim’s–victims of Satan’s attack–but even more, a victim of our own choices! But it doesn’t have to stay that way. You see, even if we are victims, we don’t have to live that way.  In fact, we can chose to be victors! As we see a Bible hero today, we can learn how we too can choose to be victors rather than victims!

March 23-24: Journey from Religion to Relationship!

The world is full of religion! Some are familiar, others–strange. But they are really all mankind’s attempt to get to God. They offer moral teachings, rule and regulations, philosophy, and some promise. But they all fall far short because all of them depend upon human achievement–and we just can’t do it! Even the best of us. So, if our hope out of our mess isn’t religion, what is it? Today we are going to see that our hope isn’t in mankind’s creation but the Man who created everything!

Easter March 30-31: Journey from Darkness to Light!

Good Friday Services 3/29: 6:00 PM, 7:15 PM
Easter Services: Sat. 3/30–3:30 PM, 5:00 PM  Sun 3/31–8:15 AM, 9:45* AM, 11:15* AM (*Worship Center & the Bridge)

From Genesis 1:1-Revelation 22: 21 it all comes down to this–the most important event and fact of all history! In just a moment in time we move from absolute darkness to the full light! And because of it, I can have a reason to live, a way to live, and a hope for which to live! But…it all depends on this one event. If it is a fact, it changes everything!
